Ports of Call

Marshall Islands (Majuro Atoll)

The remote Marshall Islands are a thousand flat coral atolls scattered within the vast Pacific Ocean. The islands produce mainly coconuts, pandanus and breadfruit. For centuries, the Marshallese have turned to the sea for their needs. Majuro is the political and economic center of the Marshall Islands. The most westernized of the islands, Majuro is home to some 20,000 Marshallese.

Alele Museum

This small museum on Uliga boasts excellent exhibits of early Marshallese culture, including a unique collection of "stick charts" used by early island navigators.

Laura

The islet was named by American servicemen in tribute to Lauren Bacall. Laura features Majuro's finest beach, the Peace Park, and the International Airport.

Delap

Delap is home to the Marshall's modern landmarks -- the Capital Building and the President's home.
